Available remotely
As teachers everywhere - from the post-graduate level, all the way down to kindergarten - bring their knowledge online through digital learning portals, it is increasingly clear that years of experience in a classroom do not always translate well to the small screen. Too many instructors come across as dweebish and boring. That may be acceptable - barely - with a captive audience in a brick and mortar school. It is lethal for your effectiveness online.
Learning institutions are committing massive resources to this field, most recently in response to the coronavirus epidemic. But if their best and brightest do not know how to present effectively to a remote audience, they put their entire investment - and reputation - at risk.
Dunlop Media’s Online Lecture Coaching program is designed to address this void in cyber-learning. The program is typically one-on-one but can also be done for groups, and is available by WebEx, FaceTime, and most other online platforms.
Our approach is guided by the recognition that online courses, at their core, are a form of television. Your instructors all have long careers in network television, where imparting quality content in a visual medium is part of the job description. And unlike most coaches in this field, they are active or former professors at leading colleges and universities.
We do not construct your courses for you, or suggest changes to your syllabus. Instead, we:
help you develop greater on-camera “presence” as part of your online courses
show you how to arrange the information in individual lesson plans to help achieve a narrative “flow” that makes best use of the medium
offer guidance in your selection of visuals and graphics to accompany your material
Instruction is done remotely, in a combination of group plenary sessions and optional 1:1 or 1:2 follow-ups. Larger trainings can also be arranged.
